This panoramic photo captures a Boise State Broncos’ touchdown in front of a crowd of over 36,000 at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho. Boise State football is nationally associated with its blue field. Installed in the summer of 1986, THE BLUE was the idea of the Boise State Athletic Director and was the first non-green, artificial football field in the country. This blue turf has become the school’s trademark, both figuratively and literally, and holds a trademark with the USPTO. The blue color also has become a symbol for the football program’s blue-collar work ethic.
