This panorama captures the New Jersey Devils® as they faced-off against division rival Pittsburgh Penguins® at the Prudential Center (a.k.a. "The Rock") in Newark, New Jersey. The Devils joined the NHL® in 1967 as the Kansas City Scouts, and had a brief stint in Denver as the Colorado Rockies, before relocating to New Jersey in 1982 where a fan contest and vote selected the club's nickname as the Devils after a creature believed to have roamed the Pine Barrens in the southern part of the state. The Devils are the only major league team in any sport that explicitly identifies itself as a New Jersey team and have hoisted the Stanley Cup® several times since their move to the Garden State.
