Kyle Larson was the winner, securing his first NASCAR Cup Series championship and capping a 10-win season with his victory in the season finale. The Phoenix Raceway is only the second track to host the championship race since NASCAR initiated its championship weekend events in 2002. The motorsport track is a 1-mile, low-banked tri-oval and opened in 1964. In 2018, a 178-million dollar renovation upgraded the grandstand, suites, technology, the Fan Zone, and numerous other areas at the track.
